There are certain vegan spots in Los Angeles that feel bigger than just a restaurant. The Vegan Joint is one of those places. For over 20 years, they’ve been part of the foundation of vegan food culture in LA, and if you’ve been in the scene for a while, then you already know the impact they’ve had on this city.

From Downtown LA to West LA and Woodland Hills; which is personally my go-to location; they’ve continued to stay consistent while still evolving with time. And honestly, that’s not easy to do after two decades.

But this new Kra Pow menu? This feels like a whole new era for them.

The Flavor I’ve Been Waiting For

My first introduction to The Vegan Joint’s Kra Pow flavor was years ago through their Impossible Kra Pow Pad Thai, and ever since then, I’ve been wanting to see those flavors expanded into more dishes.

So walking in and seeing an entire Kra Pow-inspired lineup? Yeah… I already knew I had to try everything.

And let me tell you something right now: this menu did not come to play.

Starting Off Strong

First up was the Kra Pow burger. Packed with Impossible, slaw, and that phenomenal green sauce they’re known for, this burger immediately made an impression.

Juicy, flavorful, and seasoned exactly how it needed to be.

One thing about The Vegan Joint; when they lock in on flavor, they really lock in.

And this burger proved exactly that.

The Wrap That Did What It Needed To Do

Next up was the Kra Pow wrap with crispy mushroom, and honestly? This might’ve been one of the biggest surprises for me.

The crispy mushroom paired with the kale and Kra Pow seasoning worked so well together. It felt hearty while still having freshness to it, which is something I always appreciate.

And anybody that knows me already knows… I love me some kale.

The Nachos Almost Didn’t Make It

Then came the Impossible Kra Pow nachos.

Honey.

The smell alone was already enough to let me know these were about to be dangerous. The nacho cheese, Impossible, jalapeños, pico, and that green sauce all together created one of those combinations where every bite somehow gets even better.

And I’ll be honest; anybody who knows me knows I usually prefer Beyond over Impossible.

But these nachos?

Yeah… they changed the conversation a little bit.

For My Bowl Besties

Last was the Kra Pow bowl, and this one immediately stood out because of how beautiful the presentation was.

Colorful, vibrant, thoughtfully plated, and packed with flavor. It felt intentional from the very first look.

And what I appreciated most about this menu overall was seeing how versatile the Kra Pow flavor could actually be. Every dish carried its own identity while still tying back into the same flavor story.

That’s hard to do.

More Than Just a Menu Update

What makes this moment special for me is that it doesn’t just feel like a seasonal drop or random menu addition.

It feels like evolution.

The Vegan Joint has already solidified themselves as one of LA’s OG vegan spots, but seeing them continue to experiment, create, and push themselves after all these years is honestly exciting to watch.

That’s how places stay legendary.

Until Next Time

Some restaurants stay the same forever.

And some continue finding new ways to surprise you.

The Vegan Joint will always be one of those places for me.

Until next time.
