Vegatinos: Vegan Latin Comfort Back in NoHo
Another @happycow find, Vegatinos has officially made its return to North Hollywood. Once a neighborhood favorite, they closed for a bit and reopened this year. They’re now sharing space with Leonor's Vegetarian Mexican Restaurant on Victory Blvd and the comeback is worth it. 🐮🌱
What I Tried
I started with the Supreme Nachos. Big, bold, and fully loaded — the kind of plate that makes you stop talking and just start eating.
Next up was the Pupusa. She told me it was inspired from Guatemala, and that’s how she makes it. Warm, simple, and served with curtido and salsa on the side. Straight comfort.
Then the Flan. Smooth, silky, and just the right amount of sweet. A classic done vegan, and done right.
Before I left, they handed me the Panes con Frijoles to take home. A sandwich stuffed with beans, avocado, cheese, and slaw. Hearty, filling, and exactly what you want to wrap up the day.
Why Vegatinos Stands Out
Vegatinos isn’t just vegan food. It’s Latin comfort food done vegan. Familiar flavors, no shortcuts, and all the heart.
Inside, you can feel it’s more than a spot to eat. The walls tell stories, the altar shows love, and the food speaks for itself. For the North Hollywood vegan scene, having Vegatinos back feels like a win.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. Pull up to Vegatinos, grab a plate, and of course you’ll thank me later.
