Every now and then, a restaurant reminds me why I fell in love with food storytelling in the first place. Gorganson’s Plant Love: homed right in the heart of Downtown Pomona, did exactly that. It sits quietly on a calm little street, offering two hours of free parking and a welcoming energy that feels like home the moment you walk in. The vibe is cozy and modern, with a hint of warmth that tells you this place was built with intention.

But the real story starts with the name. Gorganson’s was inspired by the owners’ son who grew up on hemp milk and unknowingly became the heartbeat of the brand. Every recipe, every bite, carries that same sense of love and creativity.

This is what plant-based comfort food looks like when it’s done with purpose.

🍽️ The Food That Stole the Year

Ceviche (Artichoke)

Bright, refreshing, and layered with flavor. Made with artichoke, cucumber, radish, tomato, red onion, cilantro, lime, and avocado — served with crispy chips or tostadas. It’s that perfect balance of light and satisfying, with a citrusy kick that wakes up your taste buds in the best way.

Mexican Street Corn (Elote)

Creamy, spicy, and straight-up art on a plate. The kind of dish that hits nostalgia but still feels fresh. It’s rich, perfectly seasoned, and has that street-style energy that reminds you vegan food can be bold too.

Fish Tacos

These tacos are everything. Crispy soy-based fish, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, tartar sauce, and red salsa — all wrapped up in soft tortillas. Every bite brings the crunch, the flavor, and that hint of spice that keeps you going back for more.

Coconut Soup of the Week

Warm, comforting, and rich without being heavy. It’s silky, flavorful, and somehow feels like someone made it just for you. Every spoonful has that creamy coconut base that makes you feel hugged from the inside out.

Cali Burger + Non-Animal Style Fries

Now this was the moment. A double patty layered with melted cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and that signature house sauce. The non-animal style fries are loaded, messy, and full of flavor — everything you want in comfort food. Together, they’re bold, juicy, and straight-up unforgettable.

This combo sealed it for me — my favorite review of the year.

Sweet Potato Pie + House Drinks

I wrapped it all up with a slice of Pumpkin Pie, and it was the perfect ending. Soft, flavorful, and full of that homemade sweetness that takes you right back to childhood.

I also tried their lemonade and tea, both of which were light, refreshing, and the ideal balance to the richness of the meal. It’s those small details that make the whole experience feel complete.

đź’« Why This Review Meant So Much

This wasn’t just another stop for Food Review Friday — this one meant something. There’s heart behind every detail, from the story of the name to the soul in the kitchen. Gorganson’s isn’t trying to mimic anything — they’ve built something original. Something rooted in love, purpose, and community.

This is your sign to pull up — and of course, you’ll thank me later. 🫀
